Answer Me This...
During the school year I do the laundry at our house...faithfully every Thursday evening...it's my way of assisting my wife who works 8:00-3:30, and like most others has children, me, and is at the church three nights in a row...so I have volunteered to do the laundry.
Here's my question: Why is it that we can take clothes off the hangers and the hangers dissappear? Is there a rapture for hangers? It doesn't just happen occasionally, it happens every week...My wife seems to believe that it is ok to take clothes off the rack and leave the hanger on the rack...the Monk in me says that this simply is not right...of course, I am quite vocal about this...I believe the hangers should be removed from the closet and placed on an agreeable and findable place. What is so hard about placing hangers where they can be found, and, being able to find a hanger for everything you removed from a hanger?
I'll need Prozac before this over...probably already do!
I'm just asking!

I do not remove the hangers from the closet but I do have a reserve hanger area on the rack. When I take something out of the closet, I put the empty hanger on the left side of the rack so that all the hangers end up at the left side.

The only problem with this solution is my daughter constantly steals my hangers. She never has enough. I am led to believe that she eats them! I think I might have to start putting the empties in a lockbox.

Very good question, Neil. Where do they go? Mine disappear with regularity. Oh well, I guess that's why they're so cheap. Time to go to Wal-mart and get some more.

They go the same place the socks go.

Dude! It is one of those great misteries of life. I cannot figure it out. It never fails that 3 or 4 times a year I get fed up and go buy a couple packs of hangers. There still are not enough. Just a couple of months ago I took probably 15 or more shirts and several pairs of pants to the Salvation Army. Should be extra hangers... right? NO CHANCE!
Somewhere some really gifted (but stupid) thief has a whole house full of hangers he has stolen!

I don't doubt it! I've always said that someone better keep an eye on you at all times.

When we moved into the house we're living in the people before us left hangers...I was excited...Julie kept a few and threw the rest away...I was ticked. Then she goes out and buys more...she licks the plastic tubular looking ones, I like the plastic or rubber coat metal ones...thin ones for my shirts...I tell you, the things we have to deal with in life!

I hope you mean that Julie LIKES them, because I would hate for word to get out that Julie is a hanger licker!

Pastor Darrell told me to come read this blog!!! Too funny.. the "licks" part - I relate with you! I, unfotunately, find myself using the wrong words all the time! I know what I mean, so what does it matter. My husband, Shawn, says I like to make my own words up. I guess that's true, too.
I took classes (YEARS>>>>) ago to become a certified (sign language) interpreter - and I STILL made up my own words. I'd combine 2 words to make one. It made sense to me!

I have since learned how to edit my posts but decided to let this one stand, kind of adds to the thread!

I think quicker than I type and even though I try to scan before posting, I tend to leave thinks out or make mistakes like this...thanks for joining in on the fun!
