Flight From The Bowels Of The Abyss
I flew home from Ilinois today, left Moline and went to Atlanta, my flight was fifteen or twenty minutes late...no deal, I had an almost two hour layover and needed to eat. My flight to Tampa was supposed to leave at 4:54 PM, at 4:50 they started board business and corporate class, then all of a sudden decide tell those standing in line that they can be seated...we're waiting for one more flight attendant. Eventually they start boarding us, then we got to sit, and then we got to back up and sit, and then sit some more on the runway...long story short, my flight left at 6:00 PM, I was supposed to arrive in Tampa at 6:20 and arrived at 7:00...7:30's by the time I got my luggage...I wasn't a happy camper...I'm better now...but my question is why airlines think that when they give you a departure time they aren't supposed to start boarding us until five minutes before we are supposed to leave...Somebody help me with this!

When my daughter was first born I had to take her the pediatrician for regular shots in the first year. I never got in there before waiting at least 45 minutes after my "scheduled" appointment.
One time, I was running late and showed up 5 minutes late. When we finally got to the room and the Dr. came in he chewed me out about the importance of being on time.
I couldn't believe of all people he was going to teach me this lesson. It was the last time we went there.
Ive only flown once in my life ,18 years ago,and I remember the flight was supposed to leave at 1 pm and we had to wait until 3 pm talk about irritated and i was 7 months pregnant !!i was not a pleasant person to be around , the airlines definatly need to get it together dont they!!??
I'm better now! Sitting here drinking a cup of freshly made Starbucks Coffee and enjoying peace and quiet, my wife and daughters are out doing ministry today, later we're off to Tarpon Springs to eat Greek Food and walk the Sponge Docks...it's in the mid 60's, the sun is shining and both my feet are on land.
I love to fly, and don't mean to complain, this flight just got the best of me! Please forgive my griping and pray for me, I received in invitation to preach tomorrow night in Tampa...got to get spiritual again!
Thank-you for your kind words. I guess all I can say about this is that I am glad that God's timing is perfect and our departure will be "right on time"! He's coming soon and the anticipation is mounting. There is something about just wanting to get 'home'..
nuff said...Be blessed...
I don't mind flying but I'm not what you would call a true fan of it either. However, I hate driving any amount of distance. I don't have the patience for it. The more I have flown the more I have gotten used to it.
