Is This The Best We've Got?
No doubt I will sound like sour grapes, seeing that my choice wasn't chosen...But I cannot help but ask...Is this the best America has to represent them?

The question really is, how will you survive until the next season of Idol or Star rolls around?

Look, I know that Kat was a very polished singer, yet Taylor was the better performer/entertainer.
It's not just the singing...it is overall performance.

I'm surviving by leaving for Kenya on Monday and remaining distracted for a couple weeks!

Steve, my friend, much learning has made thee mad...Taylor looks like he's got a post stuck up his back...that's being nice...he's always got the grunts look. I will accept his winning, but only because I have to...in my heart he's not the idol!

Sorry Neil that Katherine didn't win...However, and I may be stretching a bit here, I am curious about why "soul patrol" has been ringing out....hmmm? Prophetic maybe? Yes, I know it's about the music being soulful...however, maybe America is crying out and they don't even recognize it! After all, the words we speak have power, right?!

Interesting thought Deborah! American Idol is a popularity contest and I am playing heavy on my mourning of Katharine's demise...I'm really very fine...disappointed...but fine. But you offer a goood thought...isn't amazing God can use and be found in anything?

Thanks for sharing a great insight and thought...I love it!

Pastor Neil, Pastor Pastor Neil, being married to a singer, I must offer some 'informed' insight. Taylor is a better singer, better performer, better all around. Granted, Kat was good, but was she? Personally I liked her too, but I was really impressed with Taylors ability to sing just about anything. Concerning my comment about being married to a singer, she liked his hair, that salt and pepper thing. Had Richard Gere been on the show, she would of voted for him, so maybe the whole informed thing is being blown out of proportion!

Jesse,

Julie didn't get into like I did, but thankfully agreed with me concerning Taylor...As far as Richard Gere goes, I had to take Tom Selleck off the closet door when we first married...we had a room at Julie's parents and my parents, were evangelizing and gone so much we didn't have an apartment...the first night we spent at her parents house I said...Old Tom has got to go!

Wonder if we can revote this thing so I can say...Old Taylor has got to go!

No, No, No way! My sister says that it was a nostalgia thing. She said that several of her friends thought he was like a new Elvis....hmmm...will we ever let that guy die?
